Featuring Scotland’s most talented young pipers and drummers from across Scotland’s 32 councils, The National Youth Pipe Band provides unique development opportunities for its young members and an exceptional musical experience for its audiences. The NYPB is a dynamic, exciting, and modern spin on the traditional pipe band experience, and performs both at home and abroad.
The recording showcases Scotland’s next generation of pipers and drummers and includes 14 tracks from the band’s exciting concert repertoire, performed on their return to the Glasgow stage in April 2011. There is also a special performance from Catriona Watt BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2007. From the traditional March, Strathspey and Reel to rock guitar themed suites, the album will have plenty of sets for everyone to enjoy.
