The presentation will feature a short overview of some of Donald MacLeod’s Piobaireachd compositions in terms of looking beyond the music score to identify with the ‘song’ in the composition. Also included will be a snapshot of Donald’s teaching style and some of the compositional features which represent the Donald MacLeod ‘stamp’, as well as a suggested classification of his Piobaireachds from a teaching/learning standpoint. John will demonstrate excerpts of Donald’s piobaireachds in canntaireachd and on chanter
