The Stout Collection

Isla Jane Stout

Product Code: BK000135

This is a unique collection of 54 Marches, Strathspeys, Reels, Jigs, Hornpipes, Slow Airs and Waltz composed by father and daughter duo Jim and Isla Jane Stout from Kirkwall, Orkney.

The book has something for everyone; written very much in the traditional style and suitable for all piping abilities. There is a strong connection to Orkney throughout the book which is reflected through both the music and the stories.

Jim's influence comes from his military piping background where he finished his military career as the 11th Piper to the Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Isla's influences are much more contemporary given her recent experience completing the Bmus Traditional Music - Piping Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

A collection of tunes written in both a traditional style and tunes written in the contemporary idiom.

With a foreword by the Willie McCallum.
