Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the agreement between you (“the Customer”) and The National Piping Centre Trading Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) for the sale of products via our online shop at www.thepipingcentre.co.uk.

By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before purchasing.

1. Ordering

To place an order:

  1. Browse our online shop and add the items you wish to purchase to your basket.

  2. Proceed to checkout to enter your details, delivery address, and payment information.

  3. You’ll receive an order confirmation email once we’ve received your order.

  4. When your order is dispatched, you’ll receive a dispatch confirmation email.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order if:

  • There has been a pricing or stock error

  • Payment cannot be processed

  • We reasonably suspect fraudulent activity

All items are sold subject to availability. If an item is out of stock, we’ll notify you as soon as possible and offer a refund or alternative.

2. Prices and Payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) by default and include UK VAT where applicable.

Your payment card will be charged when you place your order.
If a pricing error is identified, we’ll contact you before dispatch to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price.

All payments are processed securely. We do not store your card details on our servers.

3. Delivery

UK Deliveries

Orders are typically dispatched within 1-3 working days with many being dispatched same day.
Delivery times are typically 1–3 working days but may take longer during busy periods. 

Click & Collect

Orders placed for collection will be ready after 2pm the following day (or Monday if ordered after 5pm on Friday).
Please wait for a collection confirmation email before visiting.

International Shipping

We ship to most countries worldwide.
Orders over £200 are sent by registered courier. Orders under £200 are sent by Royal Mail International.

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, VAT, or import charges applied by their local authorities.

4. Customs and Import Charges (EU Orders)

Following Brexit, customers in the EU may be charged:

  • VAT (typically 20%) on goods valued over £39, and

  • Customs duty (up to 25%) on goods valued over £135

Couriers may charge additional handling or administration fees.
These charges are outside our control and must be paid directly to the courier before delivery.

5. Cancelling Your Order

Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations (2013), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods.

To cancel, email shop@thepipingcentre.co.uk quoting your order number.
If your order has already been dispatched, you must return it to us (see Returns below).

You then have a further 14 days to return the goods once you have notified us of your intention to cancel.

6. Returns and Exchanges

You may return unwanted items within 14 days of receipt, provided they are unused, in original packaging, and in a resaleable condition.
Please contact us in writing (by email or post) before returning your item.

Customers are responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or sent in error.
We recommend using a tracked or registered delivery service for your protection.

Exchanges

For UK exchanges (e.g. incorrect size), additional postage costs will apply. 

Non-returnable Items

For hygiene and copyright reasons, we cannot accept returns of:

  • Computer software

  • Piper hose socks

  • Practice or pipe chanter reeds

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or proof of return).

7. Product Information

We take care to ensure product descriptions and images are accurate.
Colours may vary slightly depending on your device’s display.
All measurements are approximate.

We reserve the right to change specifications or packaging without notice.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

We take your privacy seriously. Your personal data is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which complies with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

We will never share your data with third parties except as required by law or necessary to fulfil your order.

We use SSL encryption to protect your information during transmission.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The National Piping Centre Trading Ltd shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect or consequential loss or damage;

  • Delays beyond our reasonable control;

  • Minor variations in product specifications or appearance.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
