Accessibility & WelcoME

We are part of the WelcoME platform, which gives people with disbilities the opportunity to contact us in advance of their visit. WelcoMe specialises in making face-to-face transactions between staff teams and disabled people as informed, anxiety-free and friendly as possible. WelcoMe shares information about your customers, their needs and their reasons for visiting, along with proximity aware information so your teams can plan for their arrival. In addition, WelcoMe delivers a unique and innovative approach to in-the-moment training so that teams do not need to rely on recall to deliver best practice and can easily identify hidden conditions without awkward conversations.

Our Charity

Every purchase you make from The Bagpipe Shop goes back in to supporting the projects run by The National Piping Centre to help us achieve our aim: To promote the study of the music and history of the Highland Bagpipe. These projects include The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland, our free piping for schools project, supporting all our teaching work and so much more.

The National Piping Centre opened in 1996 through the efforts of our Founders, who are Sir Brian Ivory, CBE, FRSE, Lady Ivory, DL and Sandy Grant Gordon, CBE.

Our Patron HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, KG, KT, GCB, officially opened The National Piping Centre in 1998.
